Download links are not being sent

Emails for downloadable products are not being sent; an error message from the mail server is often shown.

The number 1 reason for this is using an email address in your Soft Goods Download Settings area that is not from the local domain. Due to spam prevention, most hosts only allow emails to be sent out from an email address that is local to the domain doing the sending. Thus you can't use bob@yahoo.com as the address to send from, it must be a local email address, such as sales@yourdomain.com or downloads@yourdomain.com.

You should also check your Domain Settings : Site Configuration area in Miva Merchant to make sure that your mail server settings are correct.
