Can I configure the module to send the notification emails when I import the order status?

The import module has import field label, "Send notification email". If the value in that field is 1, then the notification email for that order will be sent regardless of the status or whether the import changes it. If the value is -1, then the notification email will be sent only if the status has changed. If the value is 0, the notification email will not be sent.

So, basically, the sending of the notification email during the import is accomplished by adding a column to your import file for "Send notification email". Set it to 1 if you want to send a notification email for that order regardless of the status change, set it to -1 if you want to send the email only if the status changed, and set it to 0 (or don't import it at all) if you do not want to send an email for that order.
