Configuring a Search List to be Associated with ONLY One Field

Right now if a value is stored in field 1 of product A, and field 2 of product B, both products A and B are returned. I?d like to configure it so that search list 1 searches only field 1, and search list 2 searches only field 2. Please let me know if there is any documentation about how I could associate each search list with only one field.

The only way to do this is to have two separate search forms. So search list 1 would be in 1 search form and would be configured to search ONLY field 1 and search list 2 would be in a second search form and would be configured to seach ONLY field 2. This would require that you use "template formatting". You would copy the text in the main template from %beginform% to %endform% (including the %beginform% and %endform% and place a second copy in the main template. You would then configure one to be limited to search only field 1 and the other to search only field 2. You can have a third search form to search all other fields if you want. Make sure that the forms don't overlap (i.e. that each pair of %beginform%/%endform% don't overlap other pairs).
